stumbled upon this and found it quite useful.

What to do (and not to do) when someone is pissed/angry.

DO:

Listen to an angry person's account of why they are angry, even if you don't agree about the facts. When someone is exhibiting anger, it's not the best time to try to have a rational debate. Just concentrate on hearing them out.

Try to see the situation from their point of view, and let them know you understand. Feeling misunderstood and disagreed with at the same time will keep their anger in place. If you let them know that you can see where they're coming from, you will go a long way toward helping them over their anger.

Remove yourself from the situation if you see the person is getting out of control. Your personal safety is more important than being polite. When in doubt, clear out!

DON'TS :

Don't tell the person to calm down or relax. Have you ever seen that work? It just makes them angrier, because it's clear you're not listening.

Don't allow their anger to ignite yours. An angry person may say things that rile you in an effort to get you as angry as they are. Focus on understanding their feelings, not on what they say about you.

Don't try to shame or ridicule them. It will only fan the flames of their anger (and justifiably so!).

Don't attempt to engage them in a debate. They're not in the mood and you'll waste your time. Save the accuracy and the facts for a cool-headed discussion.

Do NOT take on an unnaturally soothing, calm tone. This does nothing to soothe or calm an angry person. It simply makes them more aware that you don't understand them and are trying to manipulate them.

How to handle your own anger:

1. Take a time out.

2. Talk with a friend, relative, counselor or church member.

3. Splash water on your face.

4. Get away from the place of tension — if you cannot leave because you are watching children, walk into another room.

5. Walk around the block.

6. Write down your feelings, possibly in a diary or journal.

7. Take a deep breath.

8. Count to 10.

9. Exercise.

10. Do something constructive, such as gardening, reading or other hobbies.

HAHA.it seems stupid how i change my blogskin according to events,but still,HAPPY EARLY CHINESE NEW YEAR!:D

past few days have been really fun (: sch supposedly started on 12jan but on monday and tuesday it was bascially repapers time :/
took my chem repaper on mon while the others went to MINT museum of toys.eh.not fair.oh well,hope i pass chem this time :) i got study ok.HAHA.
tuesday we went lt to watch 'pay it forward'.omg haley joel osment is SOOO cute!(i dont say this only bcos he's a kid.haha.) too bad he had to die in the show T.T

well anw,from wed-sat ip2s had service learning camp!YAY!:D
we went to some ulu boys' brigade campsite in sembawang and on wed we did some MBTI personality test.turns out i'm ENFJ.
which i dont think is true.i think i'm supposed to be ENFP la.
cos J ppl are systematic and organised.
P people are those who usually leave things till the last min and are alws late.
that's so typical of me and novia la xD but we ended up ENFJ.that test probably has a flaw LOL
so then anw,we also had this straw tower building competition,which i think is a complete waste of plastic.10 grps each had 3 packs of straws to build the tallest tower and when time's up,ppl from other grps get to try blowing yr tower down.HAHA.that was quite amusing.
oh and we played some murder mystery game where we had to go to different stations to complete tasks and get clues to find out who killed paris hilton.
at this one station,we had to transport water from a bucket to a hole-filled pipe and fill it up.guys could use their shirts and pathertically,my group had NO guys.and the grp we were competing against were all guys except for 2 girls -.-
like how unfair is that?so we didnt have any shirts we could use to transport water and benita and i ended up using our mouths.haha.and bcos of 'unforseen circumstances',the poor ppl covering the holes in the pipe got so wet it seemed like they just bathed :x

on thur,we had some sort of amazing race in chinatown and it was damn hiong la.haha.we could see ppl running abt everywhere and i never knew chinatown could be so big.LOL.but chinatown does have nice food ;)

ytd was the most fun cos we got to stay overnight at the campsite!:D
in the morning we went dragonboating and it was super FUN!(and wet!)
at first we were just learning how to row the boat.then end up our instructor taught us how to splash water at other boats and even gave us a CONTAINER we could use to pour water at the ppl in the nxt boat LOL!:D
it was like some 'learning how to capsize other boats' tutorial xD
2hrs passed damn quickly while we had races and water fights with other boats.aww.wish we could hv stayed longer.was really memorable.
oh and i MUST put in this part---our boat won jianghan and bryan's boat in the race!!!LOL.muahahaha.hahaha. :P
so basically,after lunch and wash up we rehearsed for the night's performance and got ready for bash night.
but it was quite funny during dinner cos although everyone was in smart causual/formal dressing,we had to proceed to the canteen to eat packet food.haha so anti-climax.
but still,that night was really fun and smeet,yongwei and mark can really dance!(:
haha.everyone was damn high at night,singing,dancing,shouting,laughing,forcing teachers to go on stage to dance etc..
and then andre,yimeng and manu were lifted by the other vs guys and thrown up (or so i heard) and they said manu's hair almost got grazed off by the ceiling fan o.O so extreme haha.
on another note,a'ishah's voice is really nice!(:
after it ended,surprisingly, the guys started taking photos and camwhoring o.O i thought usually girls do the camwhoring?haha.
so everyone took photos,took more photos,then psls decided to have a psl photo,then the non-psls decided that we shld hv a 'rejects' photo too :D haha.
so we all act emo.damn amusing xD gotta get the photo from jordana and post it!

lights out was supposedly at 11pm but at 3am many ppl were still playing in the canteen haha.(: slept at 4.30 and ended up waking at 6 *yawn*.
the breakfast was *ahem* la.
there was tuna,egg or cheese bread, but after taking a bite we decided it shld be called mayo (with a lil bit of tuna), mayo(with a lil bit of egg) and mayo (with a lil bit of cheese) bread.
felt really sick after eating it luh :/
the rest of the morning was spent spamming stuff hahaha.
the camp commandent gave everyone a piece of paper to paste on our backs and we had to go arnd writing nice stuff abt everyone (:
though there was like only half the cohort left cos the rest went for ogl refresher camp/trng,it was like total spammage.
at first it was serious and ppl wrote many nice things.then it got boring so everyone just spammed stuff xD
many ppl ended up with 3-4pieces of paper full of stuff and andrew drew a huge chicken on my piece of paper LOL
then dominic said he could draw better and outlined another one (",)
haha.someone wrote on natalie's paper:'the food is nice' when it wasnt even her who was in charge of food or wdv.damn no link la.:P

THEN after taking the bus back to school,we 'rejects' went to pp mac's to have lunch!:D
it was a super spastic lunch la.they called it a "rejects mac's meeting" then alot of far off ideas popped out over lunch like 'we shld make a new cca', 'propaganda', 'shld give out flyers', 'start a revolution/movement' etc.etc.
damn funny.so now we're recruiting members for the rejects grp!:D

went to see a doctor AGAIN just now.
3rd time in a week cos this STUPID cough doesnt wanna go away.
neither does the phlegm and nose bleeds.-.-
last wk went polyclinic,cough got worse..and slight fever for awhile..
then went chinese physician.also not any better.
i think i could wake up the whole block with my coughing >.<>somehow managed to get my birthdate wrong and so my age turned out to be 5 years 1 month on the appt card and their records o.O
i know i'm young at heart (:D) but not THAT young.right?
and it's like duh u look at me.do i look THAT young?
i think she has a prob with her eyes.like seriously.
so when i went into the doctor's room,she looked at me,back at her com,and back at me.

when i went out,i realised that the card got sth else which was wrong.my address.
the street wasnt stated.then i check my sis card.

Yesterday was one of the best days of this year. Yesternight was one of the worse nights of this year.
Wanna know why?OF COURSE U DON’T.but who cares? i’m gonna tell u anw (:

Yesterday there was 6/4’05 class outing (again!) cum farewell to ms shamirah T.T it was at sentosa.
although it was the same few ppl who went for the outing (AGAIN) (i.e. me, peiwen, yingzi, jiading, xuanming, eeshuen, richie, nanhong) but it was still very very very fun :D PLUS there was an extra addition of shermaine and david.(:
however,it’s still a farewell but HOW CAN ONLY ¼ OF THE CLASS COME?!?!?!?! T.T
nvm.
ms shamirah still seemed very very pleased to see us though :D
AND she treated us to lunch which, we later found out after she left, cost $600++ o.O =O
woah.
Then we played ultimate frisbee and abit of soccer and it was DAMN fun!!:D the guys are quite good at frisbee.peiwen and vic are really good catchers :D we played till at night and then went for dinner at vivo.actually,not all of us had dinner.basically it was just me vic sher and es.the rest went to play arcade -.- GUYS.and guess what we had for dinner?BREAD!:D cos we were in a rush to go home. haha.curfew curfew.but still, it’s staple food u know.
I’d been having a cough when i went there and i guess all the running arnd made it worse.cos ytd night,i couldnt slp. Kept coughing and coughing.it was like i was breathing in dust with every breathe i take.throat was horribly itchy.so i ended up sitting on my bed and sleeping like that LOL.dunno why but sitting up makes my throat feel less dusty.so THAT’s how i slept ytd night.sitting :/ well,hope this couch gets better soon..

on monday after my church's outreach event i went to char's house for dinner and then to the SAF yacht club for girls sleepover (:
i went late cos i had the church event >.< they net at like 11am but i went only at 7pm haha.
but still,it was fun!
played bridge/taitee/goldfish,then watched tv,talked crap,and slept at 4am.
i missed you ppl!!thanks for making mon and tue so crappy and fun (:
early in the morning we went to swim with the insects in the freezing cold water then went karoke :P
i learnt that i cant sing to save my life LOL

After taking care of kids for 3 days,i finally caught a cold..

Hope i didnt pass it on to david though..he's this REALLY cute guy i met at the vacation bible school (: spent half of the time with him so there's a high chance he got it :x don't get me wrong,he's 6.

i was the pianist and games co-ordinator for the 3 days of vbs and i liked it cos it was beter than being pianist for any teens event since the kids dont really mind if i make mistakes (or should i say they dont really notice my mistakes?) and its less stressful (:
BUT the bad thing is that it's more tough to take care of cute little kids who are immature than not-so-cute teens who are mature enough not to run arnd and rebel.haha.
but i still prefer the cute little immature kids (: we WERE once immature too,u know..
now i know how the childcare teachers feel...

Although I wasn’t the one playing, I felt totally sad after the soccer match today >.<>

Anw, I just got a boost of demoralization.. during dinner my younger sis announced that she got 2^nd in the whole lvl. Then my mum said sth like ‘very good, keep it up’. Then, my elder sis said that her GP topped the class. My mum was like ‘WOW!’. By that time, I was desperately trying to appear small by shrinking in my seat so my mum wouldn’t notice me eating there. lol. Which is quite useless if u ask me, esp since I grew another few centimeters since last yr =X k maybe that doesn’t make a diff. but anw, she asked me ‘so what abt u? anything u wanna surprise me with?’. I think I said ‘maths, first few....from the back =P’ or sth. At least she laughed.

haha.actually i decided to abandon this blog cos it was seriously quite dead alr and since i dun wanna waste time anymore on blogging (FYI my SA2 results drop like shit).
and cos i still have alot of tags havent reply(sry ppl),damn frustrating.
but since teri asked me to blog abt vj,i shall blog abit abt it xD

about the lessons:
fact 1: the teachers teach like bullet train
fact 2: i dun understand anything they talking abt
fact 3 : im the dumbest in class
fact 4: im the slackest in class
fact 5: the math teacher finished surds in 1 lesson o.O although we started lessons onli last week, we alr finish quite some stuff
fact 6: although its fun, its also quite hectic
fact 7: i have no time to prac piano and my exam is in a month's time!ahh!!

LOL.anw,we had IPO (IP orientation) in dec..was quite fun la..
esp the wet games xDD hahaha.
1 of the psls(peer support leaders) poured buckets of water on me so i became like totally the wettest xDD
but still,its very fun..
then during the 1st week of sch we had O1(orientation 1),which is for the J1s and also for us..
the sea regatta was damn fun..
we went ECP to play games then we dunk ppl into the sea and stuff.HAHA.
sad del wasnt there..if not can dunk her =P
anws,i rmb dunking this girl into the sea..
then when i dunking then my ogl pushed me into the water too -.-
HAHA.not funny.but i pulled him in too! =)) hee.

but they didnt do haircut cos no time >.<

just sort of get to know the teachers and stuff..
and also do alot of grp work to get a feel of wat we would be doing for ip..

im now chem rep cos it was the 22nd of jan..

so i was left with only the ground sheet,flour,dark sauce,pail of water and tomato sauce for company :/

so end up we just cleared the stuff and go back..

surprisingly i didn't cry..

functions DSA ushering and investiture rehearsal..
rehearsal was like...

there was functions training again today..
we split into 2 groups...
then took turns to arrange the chairs and tables according to the plan tab and the other sec 4s gave us..
got different levels and each like more difficult than the previous..
then each lvl got different timing also..
according to how difficult the plan was..

got 1 plan damn cute lor..
the chairs must arrange in a heart shape xD
quite cute but also abit chim..
but not as chim as the others..
got 1 is a lot of zigzag thing and like 2 half squares crossing each other lithat..
but my grp didn’t do too badly la=))
still counted quite good xD
i think my blog is becoming super boring and dead with all these lame posts...

just came back frm syf showcase rehearsal and all those stacking and arranging of chairs=.= actually the the syf showcase rehearsal ended like arnd 3.30pm..
but then tenghui say have functions training T_T
we memorized the arrangement for the band chairs and I can still rmb the number:D 10,13,11,10 xD
anw,he gave us 3 mins to stack up the 44 chairs in stacks of 10..
we finished before the time limit =D
I think WAY before the time limit :D
not bad la hor..
for 4 girls and 1 pathetic guy which was the sucker joseph xD and then...................
we had 3 mins to arrange the chairs back to their original position=.=

all of my grandpa's 'descendants',meaning his 3 children and their family,stayed over at my uncles hse...
cos the funeral was going on at my uncles hse.
my grandparents lived with my uncle and his family see..
first time whole big family stay over tgt lor^^
quite a squeeze but its ok la.
family de wen nuan.lol.
we talked till like 2am?
then me and my sis and younger cuz go sleep.
actually supposed to change shift during the night,
some ppl go slp 1st then aft tat others wake up then they go slp.
cuz have to look aft the coffin etc.
but oooops!guess wat?i slept till 11am.lolx!
among my cuz and sisters i was the last to wake up.
so tired sia.
my older cousins and some other adults 6am went to sleep,
then other ppl wake up at 6 to do 'duty'...
haha but i slept 9 full hrs!hehe.

today practically nothing happened from morn till now except that i woke up at 10.30 in the morn xP
then i saw missed calls from del at 10:13am.
called her back and she told me she took the edusave form for beijing for me=)

Band Farewell Dinner

Wah!!Yesterday farewell dinner so shuang lorr :) we go changi village hotel...
It sounds like very the old one but actually very high class and new wan lorr... the farewell dinner was quite successful lar but very sad cos the sec 4s leaving... I will miss them ;(

Yesterday what they said was very meaningful... Through wat happened, i suddenly feel that band feels so much like home.
I dunno y last time i wanted to leave band... BAND rox!!

And the farewell song frm sec 1s and 2s...
I always miss the prac so till yesterday,i nvr heard the song b4 so i just pretend to sing and stand behind the ppl on stage...lol :P
I dunno y but i was very sad yesterday and almost cried myself to slp...I am a very emotional person actually...But i think kan bu chu ba...
